Brad Pitt is to star in the long awaited remake of the action movie Bullitt. Brad has been waiting since 2003 for the go ahead and the project has now been given the green light.

Brilliant.

I'd heard Daniel Craig was being touted for it. But he's a pretenious ass.

There are actually a lot of similarities in lifestyle between Brad and McQueen. And it's no draw back that they are two of the best looking men ever to grace the screen.

I think it was made in 1968. A classic film. Not sure if it neeRAB a remake but that has been a trend in hollywood for a while.

I think Brad Pitt could pull it off. Although Daniel Craig looks a little more like Steve McQueen.

Pitt?....no.

Craig....hmm,probably not.

My choice?....Russell Crowe would be the nearest thing to McQueen in terms of toughness and believability.

What exactly is the point of this film? I know its not the first remake but is it entirely necessary?

IMO the original is still a great film so why it neeRAB to be remade is beyond me.

If a film is remade exactly as the original (Psycho 1998 for example) its at best pointless and at worst an insult to the original.

If it isn't the same then it just trades on the originals name and/or shares a similar plot (The Italian job 2003 not even in Italy! Just a bunch of minis in LA. RAB!) and in this case its just down to the makers not having the balls to release it as a movie in its own right.

One of the few good remakes I can think of is Oceans Eleven, however this is let down by the frankly laughable Oceans twelve.....

I know that its hard to come up with a truely original story and that most of the genres are well trodden but why is Hollywood obsessed with remakes and film versions of TV shows?

I'm pretty sure I'll watch this new film once whereas I'll return to the original time and again.......
