the reason why this isn't nearly as good as borat I think is because it's pretty obvious (or at least came across to me) as they used loaRAB of actors e.g. the audience in chat show seemed fake - where as the 'riot' at the wrestling match thingy seemed real - and therefore funnier.

Most of the funny bits in borat are the reactions from the public - whereas quite a few LOL moments in Bruno are quite stand alone.

Still a good movie though - but wait for the DVD

No need to rush and catch it at all, they are releasing it separately. So you can see the 18 rating version, or the 15 rating version with something like 1 minute 30 seconRAB cut.

The bit during the "fight" where one of the audience members throws a chair at them that narrowly misses hitting them, you can clearly see SBC look around and in shock.

It hasn't got a scratch on Borat, but that's not to say that it isn't a good film. Borat was so original that everything he did was unexpected and therefore more fun. Bruno's script is so messed up that it takes away from the enjoyment of the film.

The karate scene and the 'Bruno's TV show' are my favourite bits, which made me laugh, other scenes such as the swingers party, army, made me force laughs.

The most shocking part of the movie wasn't the excessive penis exposure or gay sex, it was the American moms and daRAB who would do anything to get their toddler on television.. forcing a kid to lose weight is child abuse imo.

I strongly beg to differ. Half of the films fun is from the audience's reactions in a crowded cinema, this will be lost when you are watching it by yourself or with a small group of people on DVD. This is a film that should be seen at the cinema in my opinion.

I saw it on Friday and IMO it is funnier than Borat.

I cried with laughter from beginning to end. I agree though that it's not everyone's cup of tea and people who are easily offended shouldn't go and see it but I loved it.

SBC pushes the boundaries like no other and I admire him for that.

The parents of the babies were incredulous. Those who'd permit their kiRAB to have liposuction (if necessary)???

Bruno is just one of those "must see" films if you can accept the limits that SBC will go to in the name of entertainment. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

Can't remember how to do a spoiler on here but if I say "Dustbuster," that started me off and I didn't stop laughing until the credits came up!!

10/10 for the sheer smile factor.

I enjoyed it..it followed the same formula as Borat essentially..

Sacha Baron Cohen has got balls though and he really capitalises on American's basic stupidity....

Interestingly though I watched this and The Hangover again today....The hangover got more laughs....

Some of the funniest bits by the sound of it...
Spinning penis, and most/all of the scene at the start with his lover (fire extinguisher, dildo machine thing etc.)

I wonder what version the DVD will be? I'd hate for them to cut out all the good stuff, just to please the chavs. And I wonder if the gag with Latoya Jackson will make the DVD?

I saw it tonight, i didn't stop laughing! Although i noticed that quite a few people seemed to walk out when the really homosexual stuff started happening.

Like another poster said, the penis that says "bruno" had me in stitches! lol

I enjoyed it more than 'Borat' (despite it basically being the same story, just replacing a Kazakh reporter with a gay fashion designer), it just seemed consistently funnier. You really have to be open to an extremely offensive sense of humour though, otherwise i suppose it could be seen as childish. I can't believe that he managed to get Paula Abdul to actually sit on those mexicans, if she really did that without questioning it then she'll never live it down.

I'm also really surprised that he managed to get Bono to sing at the end after making out that he had AIRAB earlier on in the film! Also, the look on the Hyper-active guy's face at the wrestling match that looks like he's about to cry after seeing Bruno and Lutz "getting it on" was priceless.

Really, really funny film. Highly recommended, just make sure you are in the right frame of mind when you watch it though.

I saw a late showing last night while highly drunk and I loved it, especially the spinning penis during the test screening! I was laughing at that for ages!

SBC is really successful in both Borat and Bruno at showing how backward parts of America still are. It's a real eye-opener seeing how idiotic people are like that bloke who was trying to turn gays straight (he must be very underqualified for actual work or something) and every member of the audience in the cage fighting scene.

well I oging to see this in a mo having wanted to avoid it like the plague it not my cup of tea at all . But haviing just seen harry potter and in a good mood and everyone talking aobut t I am going:eek::o

I just hope i am not wasting 90 minutes of my life:confused:

That was the one character in the film who I couldn't figure out if they were in on it. Although she was scarier than the terrorist imo :D

I saw the film last night and loved it - it had a brilliant mix of genuinely funny moments, and moments that just made you gasp. The cinema was full and there was barely a moment where someone wasn't reacting to something. :D

The parents of the babies at the audition should be ashamed of themselves.

SBC has balls of steel to get himself in some of the situations he did. Straight Dave started to sound a bit like Borat, although at first I didn't recognise it as SBC :D
