BP Oil Leak:The real reason they aren't stopping the leak. Damage below the sea floor

there is no real way of knowing. They do preliminary and secondary sonar test to estimate the size of caverns of oil. There is no completely accurate way of knowing. All it would take is for the pressure to shift and the tiny connection from one cavern to another to open up. Or even reverse close off.

its estimated that 4 to 6 billion could flow freely from the formation before the pressure bled down enough for the water column to basically stop the well from leaking.

I dont think people like you realize that in the significance of the entire planets oceans this spill is damn near meaningless, estimates put more oil seeping into the worlds oceans on a daily basis than is leaking from the GOM. The difference is all of this oil is in one spot in a relatively small body of water, the Gulf of Mexico.

The ecological damage will be substantial and long lasting in our area, as far as its negative impact on the pacific or indian oceans it will be almost nil...impacts on the Atlantic as a whole will likely be minimal.

Oh, you're clever.

Considering my parents are both petroleum engineers and they discuss shit like this, I figured the humor was pretty fitting. I don't think he said it with the intent to make a douchebag like you LOL and ROFL all night long on OT.
