They make too much of an operating profit. While I suppose it's possible they will fail if this goes on long enough, it's pretty unlikely.
 
In this case we were talking about stock value.
I don't find it a guarantee that the stock will definitely return to 60.
 
They're all just playing dumb and knew all along this type of leak in the ocean would happen again. It all happened before in 1979 in the Ixtoc disaster.

I don't see it either. The company almost certainly will be, but not the upper management. Too hard to show evidence of willful negligence. Or anything else criminal, for that matter.
 
A little off topic, but I haven't read much about how the latest well cap thing is doing? Anyone know?
 
started collecting 15k bbls/day....slowing increased.

Cutting the pipe made it 20+% worse than it was originally though.

Original estimate for amount leaking is now somewhere near 40-50k bbls/day.
