yeah I love my boyfriend and he worked at a Philly cheese-steak place for a couple of months when he was younger. And since we live together we eat a majority of the times together (we cook a lot) and I cook most of the time but every once in a while he does. So when he cooks he doesn't like to follow directions. Like the other day I was in the bedroom watching TV while he watched wrestling in the living room and when I came out of the room he was making peanut butter cookies. Now while you are there thinking about how sweet that is and it is I will give him that...but he was up to something! He decided that he would make them chewy and thought extra oil and water would do the trick. I hate chewy cookies, crunchy is the way to go but he did the whole recipe like that and needless to say they were horrible.
he ate a good amount but the rest went in the trash.
I tell him to leave the recipes alone but he gets mad when I do and says, "I know what i am doing" ugh!!! anyways he doesn't always make disasters sometimes he makes the best food ever.
I don't really tell him much because he is way better of a cook than I am but it gets annoying sometimes. And I am a really picky eater.
So other that cooking everything what should I tell him to make him follow the directions...
the cookies tasted like oil gross and they left a oil print on the napkins!!!

You have to keep in mind that the two of you obviously have different food tastes. What you deem as a "disaster" (such as chewy cookies) may be really great to someone else. I hate crunchy cookies. I want mine to fall apart when I pick it up. For me, that's just how I like it. It doesn't mean one way is wrong and one way is right. There are just different tastes. Sit down and talk to him, but realize alot of this is just opinion. Don't go into this saying you have the right way and he has it wrong all the time. Talk about the differences in food tastes. That's the issue when you really think about it.

If you are a really picky eater, try to branch out a little bit. Never refuse to try something because you don't know what will happen. Try cooking WITH him rather than having him cook or you cook. If you do things together, then you may come up with things you BOTH like.
