Give him some space. Camping may have been his way to "get away from it all". You are a reminder of his usual life and maybe he just wanted to put that life aside for a while. He may have just been having so much fun he forgot to call or come back to the texting thing. Maybe it was making his camping buddies mad. Anyway, he knows your number. He knows you miss him; he knows he was supposed to call and didn't; he knows he has a phone charger - so give him some space and some time to call you. If you smother him, you will push him away for sure. If he comes back and doesn't call for a few days, I would say he is politely breaking up with you. But, don't jump to that conclusion yet - give him some time and space - see what happens.
