(CNN) -- Public schools in the northeastern Massachusetts town of Danvers were closed Wednesday because of a homicide investigation, a spokeswoman with the Essex County district attorney's office said.
Information about the investigation wasn't immediately available. The district attorney is expected to hold a news conference about the situation Wednesday morning, spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan said.
Danvers, about 20 miles north-northeast of Boston, has a high school, a middle school and five elementary schools.
