I'm finding these characters more and more irritating the more this goes on. I really want them right now to skip to the end so I can find out what happens and then forget all about it.
 
Perhaps some kind of weird Electra complex by proxy on Pru's part and an Oedipus complex on Cassandra's part.
I'm probably wrong, because I always am when I make guesses at how plots will develop, but I get the feeling that most people expect Peter to turn out to be Gavin's father (not a spoiler, just wild ill-informed speculation).

And then there are the horses...
 
Saw the original which was much better.

The casting in this one is not believable. Pru was a spoilt, precocious daughter who always got her own way and her father was more of a strong silent type.

The actors and actresses in the new one do not seem to gel.

Can't get into it. Shame because it was a good story.
 
There's a major equine theme going on. Peter was drawing them in the opening scene, there were horses on the road at the car crash, there are bronze horses in front of his office, and there are horses on the wall of the restaurant.
 
seeing the original seems to have put a dampener on seeing this one

i didn't like it much but was compelled to keep watching [as nothing else was on]

i had zero empathy for peter, felt like he was a knob from the 1st 10 mins
 
BoBW had more permutations than a World Cup qualifying group. They can't improve on the performances of Frank Finlay, Sheila Allen, Susan Penhaligon or James Aubrey.
ITV should have learned about these rehashes after the 'Prisoner' fiasco this year.
As I remember, Andrea Newman wrote another series soon after which seems to have disappeared without trace. 'MacKenzie'
which BBC produced and was on in 1980.
 
i think the dad couldn't remember where he had since the boy from and he calmly says with out warning or a conversation starter that the girl is pregnant and that he doesn't just work in a school but is the child teacher and theymeet at the last parent teacher night.
which to be fair would upset any daddy you don't know that you daughter has a boyfriend you meet them one night for a couple of hours and you find out your daughter is in fact 12 weeks gone.
 
Don't worry, as far as I can recall "Paula" has absolutely nothing to do with the original version of BoBW, so theres nothing to spoil.:D
