We bought this car, and the girl "J" gave us a title and a bill of sale from the previous owner to her.
When we went to tag the car they told us the title is useless because it wasn't on her name, and even though we had a bill of sale from her, that didn't matter.
What happened is that the guy "A" that sold the car to "J" never registered the car nor gave her a title on his name, and "J" also never tried to register the car because it was a project car.
We contacted the dealership that sold the car to "A" (he appeared in the original title) and they told us they can't do anything because they informed the state they sold that car, so they don't have the authority to make a new title for us (that was the original idea)
So... what the heck do we do? We can't find "A" to register the car so he can give us the title...
We live in Kansas by the way.
