Bottom Series 4 for 2011 ?

Just read this on wikipedia

A fourth series was written but not commisioned by the BBC.On 24 September 2010 it has been rumoured but still unconfirmed that there will be a fourth series with the 2 main characters still living together but now as older men.Rumours of a new series has been surfacing since 2004.If this is true the 4th series is set to start filming at the end of 2010.[citation needed]


Anyone know any more ?
 
I don't think it will happen, not sure where the 'rumour' they're doing another series comes from. I would like to see it though. Surely they would have to do things a bit differently though? Not just 'cause they're older, Bottom was so different to anything made now. Maybe instead of doing a new series of Bottom Rik and Ade could star together in a new, similar show.
 
Bottom wouldn't work anymore.

it was funny back in the early to mid 1990's.

but Rik and Ade are in their late 50's/early 60's now.

it wouldn't feel right, 2 men in their early 60's, still making knob gags and going out on the pull.

a 4th series would flop big-time.
 
I thought it was reported somewhere last year that Mayall was quite keen, but Edmonson not so.

I think he's gone serious with his acting work these days and is also a musician.
 
What you said. Well, what f_196 said as well - Ade isn't interested.

Personally, I think they should polish it up a bit and release it as a script book - maybe with the profits going to Comic Relief.

For Bottom fans, it would be almost like the holy grail ..

No matter what's been said by Rik or Ade there's always the chance, surely? It's another Bottom tour that Ade doesn't want to do. The only reason they didn't do the 4th series is that the BBC told them they didn't want it.
 
I find it amusing how many people are quick to believe dubious unsourced comments on Wikipedia. I notice the bit about the 4th series isn't even in the article any more, which shows how bullshit it is.
