Does anyone know if there are any outspoken born again Christians in the animation industry? I've always been interested in knowing this. I know that Hannah and/or Barbera were religious Christians, or so I've read at various points. Can anyone confirm this, and does anyone know of anyone else?

He's more of a live action guy, but Dean Batali, who wrote the Duckman episode "The Once and Future Duck", is a Christian. I should know; he was a guest speaker during my college semester in L.A.

I know some!

Phil Vischer - well duh! he created veggietales!

Andrew Stanton - The Genesis themes in Wall-E are there for a reason;).

Pete Doctor - Director of Monsters Inc and Up.

Thats all i got.

Hanna-barbera were christians too? Cool, i guess ill meet them in heaven one day:D

And then theres Vic Mignogna and Caitlin Glass from Funimation! They are very open about their faiths. they even sang 'Our God is an awesome God' at a Con once.

I believe Richard Rich is a mormon as well, and he and Don both worked on Disney's The Small One short. Rich also had that great dtv animated bible series during the 90s.

Do cartoonists count? 'Cause I have Jack Chick, Johnny Hart and Basil Wolverton on top of my head.

By "born again", do you mean only those who convert, or also raised into evangelical Protestantism from the start?

Sort of. The premise was that numerous future versions of Duckman traveled to the present to warn Duckman about what could happen if he does ______. Duckman becomes so paranoid that anything he does will drastically alter his future for the worst that he doesn't leave the house and sits perfectly still. Eventually he realizes it's silly to act this way and lives in the present.

Frank Paur is a Mormon.

I'm sure there are plenty of Christians in the field, even if they're not outspoken about it.

Greg Weisman is a self described Pagan Jew.

Mormons are considered a sect of Christianity. A unique (for lack of a better word) sect but still a sect. While the religion was founded on the ideas of polygamy, the official church banned polygamy over 100 years ago (there are many spin-off cults that still partake in polygamy, but it's a subject of debate whether they count as "Mormon" or not). Also, keep in mind polygamy was fairly common among the Jewish community until the middle ages and seeing as the first Christians were Jews and there wasn't any official Christian law against polygamy until the 4th century, it's highly likely a lot of the early Christians were polygamists as well.
