So, i know that i can send letters down to him, but what are the limits to that? is there a page limit? can i send pictures or other things that might make him happy while he is down there? I would just like to take advantage of anything i can....
I have heard that pictures get confiscated. Are you sure i can send a few? Or will his Drill Sargeant take them away from him?

(he is in navy basic btw, i dont if that would make a difference)

Letters and pictures are fine. Be advised that his drill sergeants may make him open his mail in front of them. DON'T send food to basic trainees. Try and send a letter a day no matter how short or silly. Sometimes the difference between a good day and a bad day is mail call.

You can send a 400 page manifesto if you really want to. Write often!

Addition to what the girl above me said....

Do not write anything other than the address on the outside of the envelop .if u do his DS will punish him for that.

EX. make him do an extra 100 push ups. or run an extra 3 miles.

letters and pictures are the only thing i know of- i saw that he was navy so im not sure how it works. I know the letters are fine to send without the DI's reading them but if there are pics- they will open them. Other than that i wouldnt send him anything that wasnt paper material

You can send as many letters as you wish, i would send as many as possible. I would send my husband his favorite cookies all the time. You can send pictures but keep in mind his eyes wont be the only ones on them. When my husband was in basic he wasnt allowed to keep his letters more than 3 days, they made them throw them away. Go to this website, every question you have it will answer. Helped me out alot in the past. Good luck

PS, it also depends on where his basic is, where my husband trained he was allowed food, some bases will not allow it.
