Do you have to got through boot camp to enter a dental field in the military. I am a uprising senior and I am considering the navy. but I am keeping my options open. I don't want ot go to boot camp, can any one explain everything that happens to enter the dental field in the military?

If you are already a Dentist when you join the military (meaning you went to civilian Dental School and earned your DDS degree) then you will NOT go to the same boot camp that enlisted go through. Because Dentists are Officers in any branch, they receive what is called a "direct commission" and go to Officer Basic which is NOTHING like the traditional basic that enlisted go through.

If you join the miltiary as an enlisted person and get a Dental Assistant/Tech job (the military trains you for this job), then you will go through traditional Basic.

Ms Froggy, everyone goes through boot camp, including even some officers entering the service with a bachelors degree. If you're afraid of boot camp, please don't join. You simply will become problematic to your superiors. P.S. Your dental training comes after boot camp.
