Boosting Wireless Range?

Boosting Wireless Range - need advice
Hi, I've been looking into ways to boost wireless signal so I can pick up wireless signal from my neighbors (yes I have permission to join their network).

The reason I need a decent way to boost signal, is because their house is about 200 meters away from me here...

I have come up with a couple of ideas, but I just want to know what people think of the idea, and weather it would be effective enough or not.

1st Idea:
Pass the wireless signal through a wireless signal amplifier, then onto a directional wireless antenna.
Here are two products I have looked at:
Amplifier~

Directional Antenna~

So I would run a USB cable to one of those signal amplifiers, then run a coaxial cable to the wireless directional antenna, to point in the direction of the neighbors.

Would this be an effective solution?
Or would it not give me the results I need?

I have also looked at a more drastic solution, of buying a Satellite Dish, and replacing the signal transmitter with the directional wireless antenna.
I've attached an image outlining what I would do in this instance...

Once again, would this be effective?
