The college that I'm currently going to has a web of routers all scattered around the school. Each separate building (for the most part) has their own router for wireless access. Unfortunately the school cheaped out when it came to repeaters and so beyond the first and second floors the internet pretty much dies off completely. Most of my classes are on the third+ floors so this is becoming a problem. I have a new Asus EEE PC 1201pn that I picked up for school. Is their anything I can do from my side to boost the signal. I've heard of suggestions regarding DIY directional antennas but I'd really like to avoid having to carry around some pringle can duct taped Macgyver type device just to connect to the internet. Is their anything that can be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
