**Boost Mobile users please** How long before I get texting on my phone?

I just purchased a Boost mobile i465 today. The clerk said that it would be awhile before I got texting, but that I could talk immediately. I was just wondering how long is "awhile"?
It's been 24 hours, and still no texting....=/
