bookworm riddle answer?

Each book in the set is 2 inches thick, this includes the covers, which are 1/8 inches thick alone.. there are 4 books. if a bookworm starts on the first page of the first book and crawls his way straight through the set to the last page of the last book, how far will the worm have gone?
 
Assuming that the books are in the standard order on the bookshelf then the worm must bore through the front cover of volume 1, the complete volumes 2 and 3 and then the back cover of volume 4.
So 1/8 + 2 + 2 + 1/8 = 4 1/4
