A LOT of books are - or at least seem to me to be- overhyped, like the Sookie Stackhouse novels, The Gossip Girls novels, the HP novels, and the Twilight novels.
I mean they all have hype around them, not just Twilight. I'm sorry. And I've read them and none of them were mind blowing or mind altering to me.
People want me to say it's only Twilight that's overhyped and not that greatly written when in fact, I didn't think Sookie Stackhouse (Dead Til Dark) was all that intellectually stimulating either.
Before you say, "it's because it's the vampire genre," let me say, Ann Rice's work had a more intellectual read to it. So, no, it's not the genre.
What I'm saying is, Twilight isn't the only "possibly" overhyped book out there.
These are all just books to me and I really don't get that worked up over a book anyway. I'll enjoy them and that's it, but that goes all the way around, not just for Twilight.
