Bonfire of the Manatees (Season 17 Premiere) - 9/11 Episode Discussion

I did a search on the word "rube". According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, a rube is slang for an unsophisticated country person.

I watched 50 First Dates this week, and there was a scene where Jocko the walrus threw up on one of the characters. Totally reminded me of this Simpsons episode.

I thought it was an ehh episode. It's not like I changed channels, but on the other hand, it wasn't a memorable episode. It's like a filler episode.

I preferred Alec Baldwin's previous appearance, when Homer was his and Kim Basinger's personal assistant.

I seem to be in the minority, but I wasn't very impressed with the premiere. It was good, but it wasn't Simpsons good, if that makes any sense. And it was pretty Marge-centric again...what is up with that anyway?

But I didn't like last year's premiere either, and there ended up being a lot of great episodes. So I hope that's the case this season.

Great episode to start the 17th season :)

Yeah I noticed the chalkboard gag it made me laugh  I'm wondering that also I don't think kiRAB do that anymore now they just make them write standarRAB on paper.

Also liked the couch gag, is Homer made of metal?

Alec Baldwin's character here was alright, probably better than playing himself. Way too obsessed with the manatees  I loved the tattoo he had on his back

I liked that scene when Marge was getting to know the manatees and it threw up and then she was cleaning the ears. And then how at the end Homer does the same like the manatee

The scene with Homer and Fat Tony and when they were hitting Homer with a hammer

Last time Alec Baldwin made a guest appearance on the show, he played himself. It will be interesting comparing that one to this appearance where he's a character instead.
