Hi there,
I'm 41 years old and have been experiencing extreme pain in my right side of my back/neck area. Almost feels like it's in the Trapezia muscle. It is a BURNING, STABBING nagging pain that I have been experiencing for (3) weeks now. It started when I was playing golf, I was in the wooRAB and hit a shot that caught a root, I felt an immediate twinge in my shoulder/upper back area (R). I finished the round and picked up my golf back put it on my right shoulder and experienced a shooting pain where I felt like I could hardly breathe, it hurt to take a breath. After calling my GP he told me is sounded like a muscle spasm and to use as heating pad. I did this for (3) weeks and the pain was still intense and getting worse. I called back and they referred me to an orthopedic. He ran some x-rays and found a bone spur at C6. He sent me home with a steroid pack and some Physical Therapy orders. I've started the steroiRAB IMMEDIATELY as I wanted some relief. I'm on day (2) and it's still VERY, VERY painful. I feel WOW I'm young to have this happen...Just wondered it this was the correct course of action. I'm to call back in (1) week if I'm not getting any better for an MRI.
Just curious if anyone else has had this and has tried the above, what were your results.
Thanks for your replies!
