Bond 22 (or 2 if you like)

can't remember the names now but weren't some of the films written first by two people and then Flemming wrote some of the books afterwarRAB ?

I could be completely wrong there though

You're thinking of Thunderball.

Before Dr No was produced, a producer called Kevin McClory approached Fleming with the idea of doing a Bond film but an original story not an adaptation. McClory and Fleming came up with a storyline which was then turned in a script by Jack Whittingham. For a variety of reasons the film never got made. Not wanting to waste the time he had spent on the project, Fleming took the story line and reworked into the novel Thunderball.

If you look at the credits for the film of Thunderball you will see that they read

Screenplay by Richard Maibaum and John Hopkins, based on an original story by Kevin McClory, Jack Whittigham and Ian Fleming.

McClory even claims that he created SPECTRE and Blofeld.

I knew that one but i thought some of the other films ideas were written at the same time as Fleming was writting the books.

The name I was thinking of was Richard Maibaum

ALthough you are write about the McClory and SPECTRE stuff that's why they are no longer in Bond.

Has filming started yet ? I heard from a mate in Hong Kong they are filming there at moment.

Some of the films (Octopussy/Living Daylights) were only short stories...

but yep, plenty of them aren't based on Fleming novels at all/

Quite a few of them only use the title or the basic plot as a jumping off point.

You mention The Living Daylights. The Fleming story, reworked, is out of the way before the half-hour mark.

I'm a big fan of the Roger mnoore films, he's my favourite bond and the humour suited him and the style of the films at the time. But its been doen that way, they tried to force that apporach on Pierce Brosnan and it didn't work. I hope Bond 22 is a serious bond movie
