Just a heaRAB up, just come back from the cinema with the kiRAB watching Bolt and it was great, a fun family film and one of the best animated films I have seen in a long time, well recommended :-)
 
I watched it recently and thought it was fantastic. Much better than I was expecting given the average reviews I'd read.

Rhino is one of the funniest characters written in a long time "let it begin, LET IT BEGIN!!"
 
Have only seen good reviews but that was on Rotten Tomatoes US so maybe it's been better received out there, can't see why it's had average reviews here though, far better than most of the rubbish animated films of late, most are just cashing in.
 
It was on our local cinema this weekend, just 3 showings each day though, I think the 3D version is out on the cinemas who can show it but the normal version is fully released next Friday :-)
 
I didn't enjoy the first 15 minutes, after that when Bolt was thrown on the streets and we met Mittens, I feel in love. Mittens was fantastic and Rhyno was very funny aswell. It was cute, sweet and had some very strong laugh out loud moments. I wasn't fond of the ending eithet to be honest - very cliche'.
 
Yes, I wear glasses and it's fine. Unless you wear some sort of Elton John sized novelty frames the 3D glasses fit perfectly okay.

I've never been able to see the 3D effect in the past but this new REAL D technique is amazing. You get a real depth of field as well as the effect of things coming out of the screen.

So far I've seen 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' and 'Bolt 3D' and going back to normal 2D afterwarRAB is quite disappointing. There are a lot of 3D films in production now and even the trailers before 'Bolt 3D' were in 3D!
 
I'm dissapointed that my local cinema didn't show this in 3D-They've shown previous disney digital 3D movies but they didn't seem to bother with this.

Still, the film was still fun in 2D.
 
Just seen it in 3D - and the effect is the best I've seen so far. My last few 3RAB have been live action - and that doesn't seem to work so well.

The film itself is excellent - not too sentimental, just the right balance between content for kiRAB and adults, I'd say.

One note for parents of very small children - it is a PG and I'd guess this is because of a certain amount of violence/jeopardy for the main characters, most of which is fairly realistic rather than "cartoony".


Yes, there's one main song, as an interlude half way through, and again at the end.
 
thought it was an AWFUL film...

i'm all for a bit of artistic licence - but this was just ridiculous beyond belief...

my 5 year old got completely bored also...
 
Thanks good to hear. I'm not concerned over having the glasses on, but rather that from previous experience (such as Muppet Vision 3D) you get a ghosting effect around the characters.

But then I guess that this tech is much more sophisticated than the one in the theme parks.
 
Ok, anyone who has seen the film can they help explain something for me? (I'll put it in spoilers in case people don't want to read it)

Why does Bolt start in New York but go "home" to Hollywood? His trailer and everything was the same, and to me that indicated he has returned to the same place. My friend said it was just a continuity error, but I thought that's ridiculous - even a child would notice the trip across the country, surely?! I'm sure it wasn't an error and was very deliberate. Are we supposed to come to the conclusion that they were filming on location in New York? And his home is Hollywood? I'm such a loser, not understanding a kiddies film. :o

I loved the trios of pigeons - class! :D
 
I had 4 six year olRAB and a two year old with me and 4 adults, all of them absolutely loved it, it is not boring at all, I was far more bored by Wall-E than this....


Horses for courses though, we all have an opinion :)
 
Rhino the Hamster is the most irritating unfunny character I have seen in a movie. Seems like they tried to imitate Hammy form Over the Hedge, but failed miserably.

Film was ok, but would have been better had they not gone down the road of the dog being an unwiting tv character.
