Bollywood Films

Thought i'd start a Bollywood Films thread. All discussion about Indian Cinema Films.

I'll start off with Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic. This released on Friday and i went to watch it today.

Its a Bollywood kiRAB magic film i suppose, but overall it was OK. Quite disappointing from Kohnal Kohli who made Hum Tum and Fanaa.

Film has that magic feel at the end it is funny at various parts.

I want to go and see Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na next, but i dont think it will release in my local cinema :(, i dont think i can sit through Love Story 2050

I just got the Saawariya DVD yesterday, i did enjoy that movie when i watched it in the cinema last year - its kinda like a fairy tale in a way

He's filming three at the moment. Two comedies and a romance.

He's also been announced to star again with Kajol in a true story of a Muslim suspected of being a terrorist and detained in Calif.... maybe this is the leap to western acceptance/Hollywood that he, and Bollywood, have been trying to make...

Spot on.

Dodgy acting. Rip-oRAB of Hollywood films and unfunny lewd rom-coms.

Not watched any Bolly film for years.

I stick to old school stuff like Sholay and Naseeb:D

Not Hollywood, but the makers of Oldboy tried to sue Bollywood for 'remaking' it without permission. Sure I read that somewhere. Anyone know?

They need not worry, the remake was absolutely the biggest pile of rubbish I have seen in a long time. I've got the remake of Reservior Dogs to come through soon, I was told it was quite good...

Indeed! at least when America remake films there are some good ones in the bunch. They take music score from well known American movies and use it in their action movies too, noticed a lot used in some Bollywood movies like Dhoom type movies. Do they have permission to use such music because I didn't see any credit to the composers in the end credits of the films...

Some of the oldies movies are great - love the songs :D

I love the scene where Basanti meets the boys and she just cant stop talking lol

And the marbles scene in Naseeb lol

OK, some films are copied, but you still enjoy them or maybe not?

One thing that made me laugh so much was the new Salman Khan film with Amitabh Bachan and Priyanka, called God Tussi Great Ho. (God You Are The Greatest)

Its a complete copy of Bruce Almighty! :D
