body change

I have asked maybe half a dozen doctors in my life but nobody has heard of this. I used to love chocolate. Heck I still miss it every day. About 15 years ago while in college I got really sick(maybe the flu). When I got better I got a bag of M&Ms and took a bite and quickly spit it out. They tasted awful. To this day I cannot eat chocolate. Not only does eating it make me ill but the smell alone makes me sick to my stomach. I can literally smell the cocoa in the chocolate from far away. I do, however, love white chocolate. Has anyone heard of your body composition changing so that literally in a few days you cannot eat something? Thanks

No don't think so, but it sounds like an aversion created the same as a craving (think pavlov's dog). ...all remembered by your mind triggered by sensory perception of olafactory and obviously taste.

M&Ms aren't the best tasting chocolate...maybe another one day will get you back to loving it.

I've had reactions to certain smells that had me physically sick for hours...to this day when I smell certain bounce sheet fragrance..I get an instant headache and nausea.

My take on it.
