Bob's Burgers - "Human Flesh" - Talkback [1/9]

Missed a bit unfortunately because of the dumb weather reports. What I did see I thought was all right. A couple of hilarious scenes, but not much yet that makes it stand out. Though with this being the first episode, it could evolve into something else by the season's end.

As long as the ratings stay, this should have a future.

How so???

Seriously, can we all please just STOP with the "It won't last! It won't last!" rhetoric? Yeah, it could end up canceled at some point in the future, but nobody knows for sure what the future holds. Plenty of people thought King of the Hill wouldn't last back in the day and that still managed to get twelve seasons.

Okay, so today I watched Bob Burgers and....I'm pleasantly impressed. I though it would be abysmal and the animation was a mayor distraction (what's up with their necks???) but I really enjoyed it. My fav were Lousie & Gene, she is hysterical and knows a LOT about life for her age, adn Gene is hilariously dumb (the fire extinguisher bit comes to mind). And I loved the "shock bit" with everyone gasping too. I hope it last more than one season. It scored 9.38 ratings-wise, so it HAS a chance. Plus it's sndwiched between Simpsons and Family Guy, so THAT'S gotta help it.

This is kind of unreleated to the episode, but I was out with some friends today at the mall and nearby is a strip with various stores and restaurants like Quizno's and Dunkin' Donuts. Imagine my surprise to see a Bob's Burgers there. I'm not making this up, there was actually a real Bob's Burgers with characters from the show in the windows complete with a "Grand Re-Re-Re-Re-Opening!" sign hanging on the top. It hadn't been there before. It was previously a Fatburger.

Next time I'm out there I'll take pictures to show you guys.

Though it's nice to get something different on Animation Domination again, I'm not sure how I feel about Bob's Burgers. Sure, I was a fan of Home Movies and H. Jon Benjamin has his ironically calm voice that just makes everything funnier...

I mean, there were a couple of jokes that made me chuckle. And, I do admit, the large 'restaurant serves human flesh' sign was hilarious.

But can such a show survive in broadcast network primetime? It'll be interesting to watch the next few weeks...
