Bob's Burgers - "Human Flesh" - Talkback [1/9]

Outside of a few chuckle-worthy moments, i didnt really enjoy it. The characters were boring, the premise is tired and the jokes were stale. Im glad u guys liked it, but its just my opinion.

It's okay. This is about as fresh as FOX Sundays will ever get anyway, so enjoy it while it lasts.

I like that the family is very normal and down-to-earth and how the kids are such idiots. And Bob had a very good point about humans treating each other far better in death than in life.

A crematorium next door? I hope we see more of it.

Other than a few funny parts, it it tried too hard. This is coming fromsomeone that sort of liked Home Movies, but I admit it sort tried too hard at sort of havin Home Movies' kind of humor.

This was unexpectedly really funny. I didn't even realize it was from the Home Movies people until I started recognizing a lot of the voices.

i thought it was pretty mediocre. bob was funny but i didn't really like the other members of his family. it still has time to develop into a better show though so i will watch it again next week.

This was okay, nothing special however.

The characters were really bland on delivery of a lot of jokes.

Given that I feel like Neighbors From Hell could have done better with tweaking than this, I feel like that's saying something though. Better yet, Dan vs. would've done better here especially if it were marketed more toward an adult audience. Then fox would have it's golden lineup.

I've never seen Home Movies or Dr. Katz -- "this" kind of show is new ground for me.

It's...different. Not very good, but not so terrible I had to turn it off. The Cleveland Show is worse.

One negative thing I can say is that Bob seems to only have three expressions and he looked happy during many scenes where he should have looked sad or angry or annoyed. The MacFarlane style is getting old, yes, but this drawing style isn't working as well. It's harder to get good, hilarious expressions out of it. Everyone is so static.

I dunno. I got a few laughs, but if it's going to get me interested, it's gonna have to grow. No chance of that on Fox.

Was very good for a first episode. I lol'd a couple of times which is more than Seth's recent stuff can do.

Also, did anyone notice the Health Inspectors were Fenton & Mr. Lynch? I didn't realize until the final part of the episode :p

definitely enjoy the home movies-esque aspects of the show - it felt retroscripted if it wasn't infact actually retroscripted in full. that said, I do hope they can get the momentum up fast enough to maybe hold something of an audience. otherwise, i think we'll at best have an [adult swim] rescue/restart candidate.

Saw the last ten minutes. Didn't like it. Probably won't be long before it's gone and American Dad ends up out of the awful 7:30 slot they shoved it into.

It was just "eh", as I expected it to be. Not terrible, but nothing I'd go out of my way to watch.

I agree that the writers seemed to be trying too hard to make the family dysfunctional; the kids' "outrageousness" in particular seemed really forced. They annoyed me more than they entertained me.

Also, why are the mom and the eldest daughter both so obviously voiced by men? The older daughter's voice actor wasn't even trying to sound in any way feminine. I found that a little creepy, honestly.

I hope the show can find its' legs in short order, since I can't see this lasting on FOX for a long time. American Dad will be back on the lineup before you know it.

This has got to be the unfunniest thing I have ever seen on the Animation Domination block. I only laughed one during the whole episode when they were flashing back to Bob not remembering anything, including his birthday and his children's birth.

I found it to be very funny!

The sound fx machine farting had me laughing and Tina's "my crotch is itchy" bit was hilarious.

I really hope Bob's Burgers continues to serve up goodness for a while!

I noticed it after several moments. I always get a kick out of those guys. Poor Ron Lynch was horribly underutilized in this episode, though.

My sister noticed that the blonde guy was Fenton, but I didn't know the other was Lynch. It's been a while since I've heard the home movies voice actors.

Now I'm trying to like this show since the block needs some fresh blood, but some of jokes weren't that great (e.g. Trina talking about her crotch was itchy). I did chuckle when Bob forgot the important dates of his life.
Like others said, there's alot against this show and everytime a new program tries to shove American Dad out of the 9:30 slot it will get canned.

Looking back at the credits, the funeral director was voiced by Paula's boss

Also, they were listed under 'Also Starring', so I guess that means they might be back in future episodes :p

Well, this was way better than I thought it'd be... which means that, instead of probably getting cancelled in a few weeks, it'll DEFINITELY be cancelled in a few weeks. :(
