Bob Sapp to fight Ultimate Muscle character in sanctioned MMA bout. Really.

First, because a picture is worth a thousand worRAB...

Really, I'm speechless on this one. Japan has been known for weird MMA fights, but this is worse than any of them. Worse than putting New Japan Pro Wrestling's HW champion out to slaughter against Fedor, worse than a 7'2 sumo fighting Cro Cop, worse than any I can think of.

Also, I figure this is anime related, hence it being posted here.

I wonder if we'll see the Kinniku Buster and Muscle Millenium move XD

'Cause if we do its over for that guy hahahaha.

This is insanely funny

One thing that bothered me about the Muscle Millenium is that the first time Kid used it there was this really cool spacey background but they never used that one after that :/

So the other guy is gonna be a bad guy then? Otherwise Mantaro would just cowardly run away the entire fight and have no reason to fight back!

Sapp's most epic fight so far was the absolutely BRUTAL war with current UFC HW champion (and 170 lbs lighter) Antonio Rodrigo Nougeria. He piledrived Nog seconRAB into the bout, nearly ripped his head off with a can opener, and cut his face open before he gassed and Nougeria secured an arrabar.

This has the potential to be even more epic than that bout.

anytime my parents clean out their house they inevitably end up finding some of those flesh-colored M.U.S.C.L.E. toys. I had so many of them when i was a kid lol. They just ended up all over the place.

If it was the Sapp that fought Nougeria, no, he'd have no chance. Even now, I'm pretty sure Sapp will win, but this guy actually has a legitimate chance.

Isn't this gonna be a scripted fight anyway? Considering who's competing.

And for the nostalgia:

Loved that theme song XD

That's the thing.

It's not scripted. It's going to be held under DREAM MMA rules (One 10 minute round, one 5 minute round) and is part of a legitimate fight card with some very big fights on it.

Where this fits in is beyond me.

So far to my knowledge Mantaro only has one recorded lost, but that only exist in the Manga, the anime ended on a high note. So if he loses, does that give him his first loss or second?

Let me try to put this in some sort of perspective.

Over the last decade, the two competing NYE programs have been the Tokyo Music Festival (as seen in Death Note) and the K1's year end card "Dynamite". The main difference this year is that K1 scrapped their old MMA brand, HEROS, in favor of DREAM, an event designed to reserable Pride's old shows pre-buyout. But DREAM hasn't found a major audience as of yet, and with half the fights DREAM MMA fights (including what's essentially a fight for #2 Lightweight after BJ Penn) K1 neeRAB a ratings grabber. So get celebrity scary guy Bob Sapp and Kinnku Mantaro, and throw them ABOVE Aoki/Alvarez, the important world ranking fight.

It's two great tastes that taste great together! Or an unholy abomination of the once-respected PRIDE name. You be the judge.
