Board Recustomization

I don't know what everyone was talking about either... until now. See I have 2 computers. On my one computer it looks dark, almost black. On the one I am on now (flat sreen), it's grey.
 
I just hope the change happens in my lifetime. ;)

:nod: The background that this text is appearing on right now is grey. You might not be able to see it because your screen brightness and contrast is set up differently. If you like it like it appears to you, then I suggest that you don't change it. :lol:
 
I know what you mean also, its great that my parents still support me with a roof over my head but it really is about time I start taking action in my life. Right now Im saving up for a car, and looking for a new job since the job i have now is like pocket change really.

Haha, yup! Yup. I also remember than we had #s under our SNs when we donated to FF, but that was more late 2001, early 2002. The two Roswell boards, etc, etc. :lol:
 
It's okay, I bit too dark for my taste. I thought this was the sci-fi board at first. I loved the turquoise
 
:lol: I have some vague memory of him being put up there because we needed some newer actors!

But the memory fades as the age sets in... ;)

I like both of them, but espeically the second one because it's abstract and detailed at the same time (and because I'm old enough to remember movie tickets looking like that!). :lol:

Insanity - we don't have air conditioning where I live, either - since it's generally so temperate (San Francisco's temperature hitting 70 degrees farenheit is newsworthy, but 90 degrees or higher is a sign of the apocalypse, especially if it's for more than a day, not to mention a week!), so no one around here owns air conditioners. There's never any need for them. :(

I'm going to discuss this in a more private area after I make this post but I have to agree with almost everyone who's posted so far - if there's any way to avoid changing the look of this board, please do so. REALLY.

The board was slightly different when it first started, but was still dark. The then graphics team came through and created this look - based on sitting in a movie theater with the light from the picture streaming over your head to the screen (you know what I mean if you remember going to the theater and walking in front of the light - your image would be projected in shadow on screen and everyone in the audience would yell at you to sit down). *lol* It's also a visual reference to the film strips, themselves.

It's a strong visual reference to the experience of watching movies - and the team who created it captured it brilliantly.

My only concern at the time was that Katie Holmes was one of the actors in the collage. She was still fresh from Dawson's Creek at that time, rather than a film actor. It's since been changed.

Finally, we didn't ask for a graphics change and I know there are quite a few boards who really want one. Wouldn't it be better to focus on them, instead? I wasn't aware we had to have one. :(

Anyway, I think a change is unnecessary and will not add to the experience of coming to this particular board, regardless of how talented the current graphics team members are (and I have no doubt you all are wonderful - I really mean that). You know the old expression - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

As I said, I'll voice the rest of my concerns elsewhere, but I wanted to respond publicly as well. Thanks!

And thanks for the information - it's wonderful to know you all care so much about the quality of the work (although I never had my doubts) and I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm sure it'll be terrific.
 
Oooo yay! As much as I like our little banner, a change is always good as well. I cant wait to see what people come up with, and I will try to see if I can find any pictures or such that would be nice.

...but I still don't know what people meant about the gray background...unless it was a template or something, that's since been replaced...
 
Kelly- I like that, and this one is pretty cool too with the movie tickets, popcorn, red certain and the seats.. link
