syncing with the car...true? I just got a 2011 BMW 528i and the salesman told me that the BMW Assist website has a list of all approved phones that can be used with the car. Unfortunately for me, I have T-Mobile and the only phones BMW "Test and Approved" are the G1 and the Blackberry, neither of which I have. I actually have a Sony Ericsson TM717, just a basic flip, which uses Bluetooth 2.0...So, they said I may be able to sync the BMW car's bluetooth with my phone, but if it breaks/damages the car's computer or something, then it is all on me...and will not be covered by the warranty.
So, if you're me...should I just have them attempt to sync my basic Sony Ericsson flip to my car, or do you think the older technology (even though I just got it a few months ago) will ruin the car...It would make no sense that they listed only some old G1 phone and some Blackberry 8900. Are they saying that if I buy a new G2 phone, that it will not work with my car or may damage it...this makes no sense. The G1 came out 2 years ago!!!
What to do? Should I just buy a bluetooth and save some money for a new Blackberry to purchase in the near future? Or do you think my Sony Ericsson which does not have Bluetooth 2.1 or Android, or Blackberry OS will ruin the car? Help!!
Thanks
