BMW is beating the Japs?

I'm not wild about them, but they aren't any worse certainly than the ZX-10's. Most of the Japanese bikes' front ends are not appealing to me.
 
Hmm? Do you think Ducati may go V4 route also? I'm just wondering how much power can you reliably squeeze out of a 1198cc v-twin.

Realistically, I figure the updates will be giving the base model 180hp like the R and maybe an update to Ducati's traction control.
 
In my opinion, Ducati is in a different niche than BMW. It would be like comparing a Ferrari to a BMW in a car sense. Sure a BMW could compete but it's a different level nonetheless. I am sure Ducati won't do anything about the performance as they really haven't.
 
Who knows....... maybe with the rule changes in 2012 for MotoGP that will allow 'street' motors to compete, Ducati may dust off the 16RR with a redesigned longer stroke V4

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're from (now or in the past) either the west coast or New England.
