Bluetooth SOS :)

HI!

I need all the brain power in here, again! I just got my Bluetooth adapter and all I want is to surf the net ... but nothing works! :( I have got as far as getting my T2 and my notebook to connect as "trusted devices". I also have my set-up (I think it is all correct):

Bluetooth-ON
Discoverable-YES
Connection-Connect to PC via Bluetooth (Device: notebook)
Network-Service (Custom)

I cannot figure out the problem. I E-mailed Palm and they gave me the basics ... and of course I checked out the info on the boards (including that Whizoo set-up). But, I keep getting the same error message: Serial: timeout. Could be a bad cable or faulty Modem. (0x0305). Should I worry about the PAN set-up? It won't recognize my T2, hope that is not a needed step. If anyone has any ideas ... HELP, PLEASE! Cheers! :)

HI!

Thanks for the reply, fnagle. But, still doesn't work. I cannot figure it out. Same error message. Of course I have checked the Whizoo and tried to follow that as closely as possible, no go. Any thoughts? Cheers :)

I had similar problems with my T3, but manage to sort it out, you realy need to follow the instructions on the Whizoo.com link given to you earlier to the letter. Go to this sighthttp://www.jonsguides.com/bluetooth/index.html, if you have installed you amy need to uninstall and start again, this site gives you help on doing this properly. Also make sure you have your virus software, firewall and any other network connections, other than your bluetooth and internet connections, turned off.

It should work, good luck.

As many have said, the Whizoo setup is a great guide. You may have something preventing it from working on your PC though.
Do you have a firewall that could be blocking it, for example?
If you are using AOL dial-up, then that could be stopping it working...

Are you using dial-up or broadband net access on the PC?

The error you are getting is usually related to an incorrect or incomplete pairing of the T3 to the PC.

Soft reset the Palm and then delete the pairing and re-pair with the PC. Click here for details.
