Bluetooth Messenger On Different Phones.?

I have a Blackberry (8700c), and my bluetooth works fine, but my SIM card is expired, though it still works just fine. My brother has a LG Shine (CU720), and his bluetooth works fine as well. Is there not a way we can send messages over bluetooth? I know blackberry has a Blackberry Messenger, but what about the LG? Any help? I think this would be really interesting to do. Thanks
