Dont forget to ride the cherohala skyway as well

Stop at hellbenders, the tail of the dragon, gap dam, and the dam that was in the movie fugitive, there are a ton of trout ponds where they grow the fish in stages if you have never seen one worth the stop

The Wife and I did the whole BRP,including Grandfather mountain. A bit of advice for Grandfather mountain, don't ride the bike all the way to the top. The wind is so strong sometimes,it actually tore off my windshield, snapped it into, and almost blew it off the mountain. I had to ride 2hrs with no windshield to the closest dealer to buy another windshield. I put it on right there in the parking lot. The BRP was by far the best trip we have done so far. Boone N.C. was a really great place to hold up for a few days as well. Be careful and have fun.

My recommendation would be to leave yourself enough time to ride slow..stop often and just enjoy the sights. The BRP is a VERY long ride (specially at 45 mph). Don't be fooled into thinking its not. I just finished the whole ride this year. I really enjoyed the piece from Asheville to Cherokee (lots of tunnels and twist). Bring rain gear of course and keep it slow and steady!...ride safe

Looking forward to return trip this October. Several plus's for the Piscah Inn- great place to stay and especially to enjoy a meal. Just south of Piscah is a turn off for Waynesville. Either R or L is about 25 miles to great little cities and the twisties won't let you down. Our favorite section is Ashville south to Gatlenburg. Enjoy your trip.

Been to Mount Mitchell twice now...once yrs back for a fallen bro's last request...
6 guys huddled around on an edge boulder as one released our fallen brothers ashes into the winds of Gods country.
On a lighter note, just got back last week from Mount Mitchell, where i proposed to my "Lady" amidst the 5-8 mountain tops fading off in the background...I kept the rock receipt, but fortunately, she said "Yes!"
Then we were off to The Snake before rollin home.

Well hell son...Congratz. Glad you enjoy our end of the hills here/...The NC hills are About 4-6 hours for me and we do some day trips up there every once in a while...A bit far but worth every mile.

Thanks Notgrownup!
Yeah, we were headed for Maine. While near Lake George, we once again realized state wide storm fronts...3 days of highway going west to get to dry days. Tried the Skyway up top but the clouds we were riding thru up there wouldn't allow for more than 20 some feet of vision. Rolled 81 down until the weather finally broke. Ran Blueridge the remainder of the way.
I so wish i was merely hours away from the beautiful land down there! Jealous!

Thanks again....
