Yes and No. The point is that they are coming out on the XBox. The Xbox!!! Finally, something besides shooters are being sold on the xbox!

You may be comparing realistic graphics to cartoony graphics. Yeah, I said it. Was HL2 really all that realistic? If you compare it to GoW, no. But even GoW supposedly has blurred backgrounds. In the old PS1, to keep frame rates up, the game became necessarily dark to have realistic graphics. So the background was obliterated. Then you basically play Doom3 type games, just plain dark. Which is fine for dungeons, but in outside environments it just didn't work. So these "cartoony" graphics are aesthetically more pleasing than realism.

As far as PSX graphics go, FF XII was a wash; supposedly FF XII looked better on the PS2. We'll have to wait until FF XIII comes out to see if it has a realistic renderer or if they go to a more aesthetically pleasing "cartoony" feel to it.

As to whether or not it "has anything near PSX graphics," the point is moot because these are 360 games, not PSX. A better comparison would be Resistance, Fall of man to Gear of Wars. If the comparison is FF XII to Blue Dragon, Blue Dragon seems the superior product.

That and you can't compare GoW and R:FoM and then say FFXII and BD.. 2 different Gen games.. and FFXII is very beautiful. but it is a different style then BD

I prefer Eternal Sonata, I wonder how a real historic character like Chopin's gonna fit in the story

but the rpg that's gonna own those two on the 360 is Lost Odyssey

hahahaha. I though PSx instead of PSX, then thought of the latest generation.

But PS1 grapghics? What the hell are you talking about?

I still have the original "Aliens" for the PS1. Are you going to say that it is going to look like the next Sega game "Aliens"?

Oops, the PS1 graphics comment was towards Eternal Sonata.
Actually ES and BD look more liek PS2 graphics.
Nothing amazing like what I was expecting frm X360.
I do like the style though.

So, again, you basically prefer realistic graphics, ala GoW. I'm just excited that the XB finally has some adventure RPGs. Oblivion and 45 degree angle dungeon crawlers are not my forte. Zelda / Dragon Quest types of games are what I like: plenty of exploration, platforming, fighting, plenty of diverse locales, running, jumping, swimming, driving, flying, shooting; an adventure game. I want my RPG world to be colourful, not dark, being able to see the enemies clearly, not having them blend in with the background. Kiddie style? Check. But that's better than being completely in the dark, on a moonless night, hidden behind a boulder and having the enemie kill you with one shot from half a mile away. Don't get me wrong, I love my shooters, but I don't like dark games. In the case of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the realism hides the enemies often. And yes, my PC shooters are often times very dark (Unreal II, Project Snowblind, Pariah, Doom 3). But we wouldn't say that about Far Cry, would we?
