blown tire?!

It's pretty easy to dent or scratch a tire when a re-tread blows. When it does blow, the tread comes off and you usually lose pressure in the tire. Therefore, you are sailing along on the 1/4 inch aluminum side of the rim. That means that you h ave several hundred pounds being supported by a short skinny piece of flimsy metal. That is why those things bend so easily.
