Yesterday I blew the head gasket on my 1992 Toyota Cressida Grande whilst I was driving home. I stopped the car when I realised something had happened and had a roadside mechanic come and look at it and he suspects the head gasket has blown. Can anyone tell me how much it would cost to replace (I am in Sydney Australia). Also, have I ruined the engine? I was able to drive it a short distance after mechanic cooled car down, but I am frightened I have wrecked the engine and will need a reconditioned one. My car is being towed to a mechanic tomorrow. If anyone can help me with this by giving me an idea of prices and what it would cost me, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so much.
