I know someone who is selling a 1989 Toyota Supra, everything on the car is fine, except it has a blown head gasket. I know this can get to be very expensive, because I'm sure parts such as Radiator and Water Pump probably have to be replaced due to the blown head gasket/overheating. What would be a good price to take this to a shop to have it repaired? Please, no answers like "Too much, might as well just get another car", I actually want to know how much it would cost.

the problem with blown head gaskets is that there could be other damage caused by the blown head gaskets, like cracked blocks or head warping, your looking at 1000 to 2000 dollar job, and you run the risk of buying this car and repairing it and it re blowing.

i personally think it itsnt worth it, but if u really like the car then i suggest you have it inspected by a mechanic before you buy

Don't get another car.

Get another engine.

I've blown two head gaskets on my 89 Supra.

Both times, it was around 2000 to replace.

A used JDM engine? around 700. And comes with warranty. AND a transmission.

How much are they selling the car for? If it's anything more than $1000, walk away from it.

How do you know it's a head gasket and there isn't head damage. Based on your question, I would say between 1 grand and 4 grand.
