I had a blood test done and the results came back yesterday. It tested for two different illness. I have problem to read the results.

Let me just call the two illness A & B.

As for illness A, they clearly and specifically said illness A is 'negative'.

But for illness B, they just gave a range for the result. And then they gave three reference range: negative, equivocal and positive. While the range of the result does fall into the reference range of being negative, why didn't they just be specific and say it is 'negative'? Maybe there is something that I do not understand?
