I was to my doctor for my yearly physical and had to give blood and urine. When i went to the bathroom to give them a sample i just could not seem to urinate. So, in order to try and get some urine in the cup and having nothing happen I stood up and strained to get some urine to come out and that seemed to work. I had urinated just before going to the doctor so I guess i didn't have much there. Anyway when my blood work came back they said all was fine but they thought that they saw some blood in my urine and some cells. I just had a blood test 5 months before for my hypo thyroid and all was clear. I guess my question is this........Is it possible that because i strained so hard i might have caused my self to bleed? When i looked in the cup it looked normal. Didn't see any blood in there, and when i go to the bathroom see no signs of blood either. My doctor recommend that I go for a bi renal ultrasound next week but i'm freaked out.
I'm so scared this could be a cancer. I have no other signs of kidney problems. My blood pressure is low, no swollen ankles or legs. No fever, although my lower back bothers me sometimes. But i've had that problem for a long time so i don't think its related to anything with the kidneys. About 15 years ago i did have a kidney stone although i never saw it pass. Have not had any problems since.
