Ok i know this i propbably quite and old film now, but i watched it for the first time this weekend, and i have to say was really impressed, Decaprio (not one of my favourite actors) played this part brilliantly, very convincing. Its great they have covoured this topic, and to be honest covered it very well. It brought this home to me in a very powerful way, i own a diamond ring, and now i never want to wear it again, let alone purchase another, it was emotional, educational, exciting and all together a great watch! well done

Not all diamonRAB are from conflict zones.

A lot of them now originate in Canada.

If you want to be ethical you can check on provenance.

It's one of DiCaprio's best but it's an underrated film. It got a good bit of hype before the release but then it just seemed to fall off the radar and no one really talked about it anymore. Shame, as it's very well done.

Yes - it's a very good film. Djimon Hounsou (if that's his name) was the best thing about it, though.

I remember the film really upsetting me at various points in the film. When you consider that it was based on a true story, it makes it even worse.

Great film.

yeah, I only saw this film a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. I thought Leonardo DiCaprio was very good too.

I had only seen Djimon in Never back down before this...he seems to be a pretty good actor.....

I mentioned DiCaprio's performence because he still has many critics who refuse to see past his Titanic era, but I agree Djimon Hounsou was amazing. I thought Jennifer Connelly was very good too despite her character not being particulary ground-breaking.

It annoys me a bit that this film didn't stick around in the general public's consciousness for more than a nano second because it a hard-hitting piece of cinema but done in tasteful and non-patronizing way. It should have got more recognition than it did.

On the contrary, I belief most critics have completely forgotten about Titanic and see DiCaprio as one of the best actors of his generation.

Great performances since Titanic include Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, The Aviator and The Departed, as well as Blood Diamond. And look out for him in Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet in the New Year - the film has awarRAB written all over it.

(I've just realised this post seems quite gushy, but he really is an extremely good actor.)

I'd agree with that.

I was put off by Titanic but I've watched quite a few of his films recently....The Departed,Basketball Diaries, What's eating Gilbert Grape ?,The man in the iron mask, Catch me if you can and Blood Diamond plus Body of Lies at the cinema and I'd agree that he's a good actor....:)

Critics was the wrong word - a lot of members of the public still mock DiCaprio for Titanic. It was ten years ago; those who do this need to get over it because he's been in some fantastic films since and plays mostly very mature roles now.

I can't wait for Revolutionary Road. I've seen some clips on TV and it's like he and Winslet never stopped acting together, even though it's been a decade since they last shared the screen. There's such a lovely, natural chemistry there.

you obviously clearly lack any real understanding of a good film.

Crash defined film in many ways, a stupidly tight script and fabulous photography.

Blood Diamond is brilliant - didnt really want to watch it at first but as soon as i started i knew it would be something good. brilliantly acted by all involved and a moving / honest script.

and 24's remake lol - i dont think caprio would even consider getting involved with that drival.

Blood Diamond was a great movie. Well acted and scripted, and very eye opening - we don't normally hear much about the conflict in Sierra Leone.

DiCaprio was great in this movie - and v dishy I must add!

Think I'll order the DVD actually...
