Blog Talkback: How To Make a Great Animated Music Video

Finally, someone says what neeRAB to be said to all those amateur AMV makers out there. I get so sick of browsing YouTube only to find junk AMVs. *Shamelessly promotes his channel*

Personally, I think they are overused so using them is kind of annoying. However, in general I would say that if you can make the song work with the show, as well as putting together a nice video, then go for it.

Not a bad post, but the title is slightly misleading. It's less a "How-To" and more of a "What-Not-To-Do" (use footage with subtitles, repeat scenes). In any case AMV making is a subject that's a bit too broad to be well-covered in a seven-paragraph post. For more practical advice, I always recommend animemusicvideos.org's Guides section.

Well, when I make AMV's, I feel like I'm telling a story. Find the right theme/setting (Music) and how you place it (The anime clips).

Most AMV's I seen don't do that. Most just put random clips from a over rated song and think its cool.

To me, that doesn't work. Listen to the song and see how the anime clip you got can fit in it.

No, Linkin Park - "In The End" song.
