Blocking SMS for specific number

Hi There-

I've recently started recieving SMS messages on my 8700g (T-mobile). It's spam, someone thinks my name is Stan, and I might want to refinance my mortgage. It says I can reply "STOP" to request a stop to the SMS, but I'm nervous about doing that.

Is there a way to block that SMS number, either via t-mobile or via the Blackberry software?

You can try this and see if it works:

Options/MMS

Go down to message filtering and reject anonymous messages and reject advertisements.
 
Hi,
log in to tmobile.com with your phone number and password, look for communication tools. click on change my phone e-mail address or click on create spam & keyword filters or do both. What you want to do is block all [email protected]. This will stop spam specifiic to your phone number i.e areacode [email protected] If you assign an email for your phone I would do something like this [email protected] this will make it harder to guess your address. I had one spam...since I did this a BIG FAT ZERO!!! ONE more thing...if people try to send you MMS to your number or sites that send alerts by using the standard [email protected] it won't come through....the only way you can get mms is using your [email protected]! Be careful who you give it to....

I tried to use the firewall setting in my BB and no spam came through but I still got charged for what was sent. Any tips on what I can do? I'll be calling tmo tomorrow...
