Blocking Numbers on an AT&T Cell Phone

Your phone may have something called fixed dialing, where the number cannot call you,and visa versa. Not all phone support dialing restrictions. As far as ATT, no, they do not currently have anything in place for specific numers.

You are confused. Fixed dialing only placed restrictions on outgoing calls and requires assistance from the carrier. What you meant to describe was Call Rejection. Some phones have that capability. Calls from numbers on the restricted list either go directly to voicemail or receive a busy signal depending upon how the phone handles Call Rejection. You may be charged for an answered call with some phones.

They haven't implemented such a feature yet, but like efparri said certain phones allow you to block specific numbers. My Samsung Solstice can did this. In fact, it's the only reason I own the phone. I also know that some Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones have a similar feature. AT&T does need to get with the times though. VZW is their main competition and even with the "iSavior" phone they haven't been able to crush VZW, so they might need to compete on feature.

they do have a way to block up to 10 numbers incoming or outgoing. it is called Smart Limits it costs $4.99 a month per line. you are welcome for my help:)

my old phone had a auto reject list you could put numbers on you didnt want calling you.

Sucks that you have to pay for it, because with Verizon it's free and you can do up to five numbers. It's good to know that the feature does exist though.

On my Blackjack (Windows Mobile), I use a program called CallBlock by Wish Solutions. Works for me.
I do know that on a lot of Sony Ericsson phones, you can edit the "whitelist" and make it a blacklist through a few tweaks.
