Hi

Ive been using Blockbuster DVD rental for some time now its usually an excellent service but my last 6 DVD's have gone missing in the post on the way too me.

There is still one that they have not removed from my list.

Ive given some of the trials a go but have not yet found one that will send me the new films as they are released like Blockbuster do I don't rent many old films.

Does anybody know of another site that you have had good exprience with getting the newer titles quite soon after they are released?

Thanks :)

Started throttling my Lovefilm service after a couple of months, to the point where they were receiving my films back (and it being registered with them on teh ssite) and not sending out my new ones for 3 or 4 days.

They don't like heavy use customers, and Blockbuster haven't done anything like that, apart from the 2 weeks it took Haral and Kumar..... to get here, and that was very strange. No note from Royal Mail, Blockbuster assured me it was sent, and then one day, plop, it arrived.

The service that Blockbuster are offering at the moment has dipped really badly, i have 24 films on my list and i am waiting on average about 3/4 days for a replacement film to be selected. Up until the last month, you could almost guarantee that a replacement film would be selected and posted on the same day. Its not just Love Film, going to try Screen Select.

Ive just been sent Constantine, Ladder 49, & Hostage by MyMoviestream whereas Lovefilm have only sent me filler DVD's. Im definatly going to switch after trying Lovefilm if only Blockbuster did'nt have problems with discs going missing.

I can confirm that Lovefilm will stop you getting too many DVRAB per month by allocating dispatch dates to your account. I received this email from their customer services on the 1/8/05. "We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our system will prioritise a customer's DVD dispatch by allocating a next available dispatch date. This gives all of our customers

I have a theory that in the DVD Rental business there is a new slow cartel pervading all these dwindling companies.

It's as if they all offering the same appalling service just recently. Is there nowhere to go ?

Not yet they have sent me an e-mail saying a lost in post claim has been submitted.

I don't know why this problem has just occured im thinking of finding someone else to subscribe too due to poor service but its probably not blockbusters fault.

I guess someone has learnt whats inside the packets time to try someone else.

It is pretty obvious what is in the package sometimes, It would probably be better if the DVD's were sent in plain brown envelopes (not that sort of DVD's either!)

I was recently with blockbuster until i realised they were charging me for late fees. I had the dvd's for no longer than 3 days at a time and was charged

Do you mainly rent the new releases? If I was to sign with Clubextra or Lovefilm and put 20-30 new films in a list do you think they would have many in stock?

I have just had an e-mail from blockbusters saying they have NO films avaliable that are in the 50+ list! and it's mostly non mainstream films, a lot of them are things like films by Ingmar Bergman.

Not one they have!?!?! find that very hard to believe.

Hi,

I looked at all of the sites mentioned, but they did not suit me - I spend up to 50% of the year traveling outside of the UK so a monthly subscription would not be good value.

The EasyCinema DVD (Yes its Stelios from easyJet!) - is a system where you buy credits and they are used when they send you a DVD. currently I pay
