Bleeding everywhere?

Hello,

This is my first post and I am not quite sure if I am posting this in the correct spot so sorry in advance if I am not!

I am a 20 year old female and I have been having a problem for the past 24 hours or so which is starting to worry me. Firstly, I started birth control in the beginning of June and the first month was fine, no spotting or anything. Then in July, the second month, I bled continuously for three weeks and I currently still have my period.

One thing to be aware about is that I am not a big drinker, but two nights ago I went to a wedding and drank more than I ever have in my life. I didnt get what I would consider drunk but I did have a little buzz going. Yesterday morning I woke up with a little stomach ache (assuming from the alcohol) and the stomach ache has conitinued into today. I figured it would have come and passed yesterday but nope, its still here. Then last night I went to blow my nose and realized it was bleeding. It wasnt bleeding terribly but there was an obvious amount. About 10 minutes before I got the nose bleed I coughed up mucus with a little blood in the phlem. Its nothing too serious, it was just also obviously visible.

The bloody mucus and nose bleed have continued into this morning, along with the upset stomach.

I am not quite sure what is going on with me! Its Sunday morning and my doctors office is obviously closed so I am seeking advice via internet. I hope someone can give me some insight on what might be occuring! I seem to worry a lot about small things and I am trying to keep calm!

One thing I should add- where I live it has been raining quite a bit so I dont think the nose bleed is due to dry weather.

Thank you in advance for helping me out, if anyone has had something similar or might have an idea of whats going on I would greatly appreciate your input!

Would you describe the vaginal bleeding as heavy or just spotting? If it is just light spotting that can commonly be from the birth control pills and is nothing really to urgently worry about - you may just need to change the type of birth control you are on. (no chance you are pregnant though, right?)

Its not incredibly heavy, its actually pretty light. I have heard its normal but for three weeks? I am going to make a stop into the doc tomorrow.

You have symptoms of having low platelets. These are the bodies in the blood that trigger normal clotting. I can't tell you for sure the BC pills are causing it; they might or might not be a trigger.

But I can tell you that if the bleeding gets any heavier, you should head to the emergency room for advice. If the bleed rate stays about the same, you can wait to see an MD in his office, but do it soon.

Let us know what happens.
