Bleach might be getting a simulcast in the future

Viz is having a poll if you want to see Bleach simulcast like what happening to both Naruto and One Piece currently in the near future.

I wouldn't mind it if happens in the future. Aleast this way we up to date to the current episdoes with no problems.

There's a poll on Crunchyroll for this as well.

Hurray! It only took (checks) 269 episodes to even consider this possibility! Well done industry! Well done!

(But seriously, better late than never I guess)

Not that I want to be the generic "The sky is falling!" guy, but with AS restarting the series from episode one, and now this having a chance of happening, Bleach's future on AS is starting to look kind of iffy.

Seriously, I think Bleach is, at this point, the only current major shonen that doesn't have a simulcast (except Dragon Ball Kai, but that's a different case entirely).

Awesome news if this happens (and it sure as hell will if that pie chart is accurate). I actually got all caught up with the canon last summer, but now that the anime has FINALLY gotten out of filler-time, a simulcast of the current episodes would be much appreciated.

Of course it should get a simulcast. That way people can watch without staying home on a Saturday.

Seeing as Bleach is the only thing that gets ratings on Saturday, I don't see why AS would get rid of it.

If VIZ does a Viz simulcast maybe a "mini" manga speed up would be in the future, instead of 4-5 volumes per month and "saturating the market" just release one volume every month or two months (current is 1 volume every 3 months).

They caught Naruto/One Piece up to current material so it seems inevitable that it'll happen to Bleach too, and if Arrancar enRAB in June it'll be the perfect opportunity.

So I'll vote yes hoping that it might lead to this

Brotherhood has the same situation.

It's really a thing of:

1. Wow, I can't wait to see this dubbed on cable!
or
2. I can't wait to tear into the dub of this on cable!
and/or
3. I don't like watching this on a computer monitor
4. I don't want to watch subs
5. Foreign languages scare me because I don't know what they're saying

So there are still several reasons as to why it will continue being broadcasted.

IIRC, in an interview with someone at Viz about the One Piece speed-up, it was actually hinted that a Bleach speed-up could happen in the very near future.

I think Bleach is the farthest behind of all their current series in the magazine, so that would definitely help as well. Though, yeah, it'd make sense for one a month anyways, because it's nowhere near as far behind as One Piece was for the longest time.

Edit: ...WOW, they're farther behind than I thought (Viz is on volume 30....the Japanese releases are on volume 44). That would warrant TWO volumes a month, not just one.

One thing to remeraber is that Viz intentionally slowed down the manga release. They were doing it every two months, but when they got within two volumes they put it into Shonen Jump and slowed down the releases to every three months. Bleach had been a lot closer than One Piece was when they did the speed up.

Yeah, that's reassuring, it's just that with AS restarting the series for some reason it kind of made sense if Viz was pushing for this as a result of that.

But in other worRAB this is great news, now it looks like there will be an easier way of catching the anime fresh from Japan.

Well, yeah, that much was obvious. What I'm trying to say is that, by July, One Piece will only be 4 volumes behind, Naruto will be about 4 volumes behind, while Bleach will be 14 volumes behind.

It can go back to slowing down after a speed-up, but it's currently too slow.

I'm not caught up to Bleach because I decided not to watch it through fansubs, but I voted yes for the Bleach fans. The One Piece Simulcast is awesome, and I think that other series should get that treatment as well! Especially Bleach since it's so popular here.

Although I know many people (within the range of where the Simulcast is allowed) would still go for fansubs sadly.

Right, but what I'm saying is that One Piece and Naruto were completely different than Bleach. In both cases with their speed ups they were more than 30 volumes behind. Even at 14 behind Bleach could still survive without a speed up. I'd actually prefer Bleach to stay about where they currently are and just go to 1 a month. They might not gain ground, but getting back within 4 a month puts them a bit too close to the Japanese releases and could lead to them having to slow it down again. There's also a little history involved in that Shonen Jump usually finishes the current storyline before speeding it up. One Piece finished Alabasta before speeding up. Naruto Shippuden finished the first encounter with Oorochimaru before speeding up. I don't see them speeding up until they finish the Aarancaur arc, though they should push it up to at least 4 chapters a month to keep from falling any further behind, much like they are doing with Naruto and One Piece.

As a little FYI, it's a runaway vote on Crunchyroll. 88% say they would like and would watch a Bleach simulcast (1780 votes) while 12% disagree (241 votes).

I'm surprised it took them this long to CONSIDER simulcasting it. Naruto has been simulcasting for a long time now and One Piece has even been doing so for a while. Though at the time Bleach was the only one with a stable TV deal at least until Shippuden found it's way to Disney XD. And that could be why they didn't simulcast yet.

No reason to be concerned with Bleach leaving Adult Swim though. Or even to be concerned about it not continuing. It's been doing more than well enough to stick around.

As for a manga speed-up. I think a small one wouldn't be a bad idea. One volume a month again for about half a year should do it. But they will probably finish the current arc before they did that or at least come within chapters of finishing as was the case with One Piece and Alabasta.

It's still not being simulcast. They are merely polling to see if people have an interest in it being simulcast, and so far the answer is a resounding yes. They'll probably start simulcasting it, but first they have to get rights, and who knows how long that will take.
