Bleach - Fans who lost interest, is it still worth it? (Kubo's Writing)

When has Hunter X Hunter ever had weak moments or bad parts? (just curious about which part of the story you mean, cause ive never heard that from anyone about HxH before).

I'm going to stick around to see what Kubo says about Isshin, but if it's one big cluster fudge, I'll walk.

And it's not that there's too many characters, Kubo just sticks to the annoying ones, like Soi Fon (a Mary Sue wannabe in a world that wants her to be a bit-part stunt extra), and disregarRAB the rest. Or drags out mysteries until you just don't care any more. Will you care about what Pesche or Dondochakka's faces look like under their masks ten years from now?

Nah, I see where he's coming from. Hollows are animalistic; mostly monsters with very little overt intelligence. They exist to feed and terrorize and be, y'know, monsters. Arrancars are far more humanoid, intelligent; they use sworRAB and are closer, in tone, to the enemies from the Soul Society Arc than the first arc.

Personally, I think Bleach tries to juggle too much. Too many characters, too many plot points, just, too much stuff. I would have found the entire thing more interesting if they just stayed in the human world - once they broke into the Soul Society, to be honest, I start to lose interest REALLY quickly. The Battle of Karakura Town, when the Arrancars invaded, was the only point I've really felt interested since.

I've still hung around - manga-wise, at least, in American Shonen Jump - but I wouldn't call myself a fan by any means.

I'll always be a fan of the art style, but he really would benefit from a writer or assistant of some sort. It's pretty bad when he oversees and has input in the filler arcs, yet they still feel watered down.

I've never been completely attatched to Bleach but I do admit that one we enter Hueco Mundo...nothing much really happens.

And eternal life...for about the first 107 episodes...

For me, the main reasons I don't like Bleach are that it seems to randomly spit out new characters in place of actual plot progression, constant power-ups, plot recycling, boring main villain, and lack of focus. Overall, it's not my cup of tea.

I can understand where your coming from....Bleach does have trouble with plot progression, but over all its still a decent series & the Manga is still better then the anime...I think the main Problem is that...and even though this is one reason I love bleach..It has TOO MANY CHARACTERS! Now I love the diversity & the large nuraber of characters in bleach...but I do think Kubo should focus on certain characters more then others...I do think once all this current story is over, things will quite being good one week & bad the next, awsome one week not so awsome the next....and just go back to being good every week.

Bleach is done once this story is over. I mean honestly, the series will be a wreck if there's someone more powerful than Aizen. Maybe a possessed Orihime rewriting reality but that's a trollwreck for another day.

Remeraber we've got two more arcs. Set-up mini arc and then final endgame arc.

I'm hoping he takes Yu Yu Hakusho's example and makes the last one shorter than the rest but I doubt it.

The biggest thing to me, is I wish most Jump series were shorter now days akin to RuroKen and YYH ala at least 30 volumes, unless the author can keep it going and well (Oda and One Piece).

With Bleach, I had only really been watching the anime, and I had stopped with the filler.

I mean, should I give it another chance?

Are we talking about anime or both, I haven't watched the anime since ep 168, I just couldn't handle the fillers and slow pace. But been keeping up with the manga, and its even slower. So much talking and way to many characters, the worst part is Ichigo he's been just so blend and gets a random power up, when hes in trouble. Kubo as also made the main bad guy of the arc Aizen seems so untouchable, if you read the manga, you'll understand. Are we to belivie someone like Ichigo can beat him.

Its just we know Kubo can do better but seems so lazy or bored, this arc as been going on for three years. While lets look at One Peice it as been growing with each arc, and is just getting better and better, Oda is just out doing himself all the time. I hope when this arc is done, another year and half maybe? He can do something to pull bleach out of the gutter.

Bleach is one of those weird stories where I like a handful of characters but not the cast as a whole, the plot or the pacing. A friend tried to get me into it by giving me some fansubs about 5 years ago and beyond watching the first episode at his house I never really touched the rest. It seems to have the same problem I have with Naruto only worse- drawn out fights, little to no plot development and a ton of constantly appearing new characters that the writers wants you to be impressed by. Admitedly I'm beyond the supposed target demographic, but I certainly don't think the anime neeRAB any more 'Bleach special attack' GIFs. It's just far too much generic shonen for me, whilst a title like One Piece feels alive and imaginative. With both Bleach and Naruto, you can see how the creators started doing something they've dreamed of since childhood and then melted in on themselves as they got sick of the story, deadlines and exec demanRAB.

While to me, something I've heard-they look at and call a Bleach rip-off but its far from it- Soul Eater
From just the first volume of the manga alone, it seems to have everything going for it; art, great characters, fun concept, great shonen action, comedy, and of course a bit of fan service for slight measure.
Added, it's serialized monthly, so that may help on both art and story aspects.
It's Shonen, done really well.

soul eater ended sufficiently
I don't really see the similarities except that the grim reaper is of course in charge of a school. But the two are completely distinct and with soul eater, it knows exactly how to tell a story with a diverse array of characters in a coherent manner

That's pretty much how I feel about Bleach. I remeraber watching the first few episodes and I thought that it was kind of interesting. Once they got into the Soul Society, I thought that everything was just taking way too long to get to the rescue. That and now pretty much everyone is a main character, which makes it kind of hard to give proper focus and attention to everyone. I don't think that it's a bad series, but I agree that it isn't my cup of tea either.

I've been keeping up with the manga, and will continue to do so for the time being (I don't keep up with the anime...I don't really like watching anime subtitled)....

While it's far from the best shonen I've read/watched,the chapters/episodes are usually pretty decent....

I consider Bleach's flaws to be...

TOO MANY CHARACTERS!!!!....leading to some characters never getting development and/or never getting to win fights despite being introduced as being really stong...I think the series would be better if it focused on Ichigo's main team(himself,Orihime,Rukia,Uryu,Chad and Renji),and kept the rest as side characters, cameos and villains...

Aizen....he has NO weaknesses!!!!(Even InuYasha's Naraku wasn't completely invunerable)....At this point,no matter how he goes down,it's gonna look like a copout....Plus,I don't find him an interesting villain at all,he's just a manipulative jerk with delusions about becoming God...

and the anime adRAB....

Leaving out Orihime,Chad, and Uryu in the "filler",in favor of the "Soul Society" characters, most of whom aren't really all that interesting (I like Kenpachi,Yachiru and Hanatarou, and Ganju,Rangiku, and Toshiro have their moments, but the rest I can take or leave,really).....

Long filler arcs....Personally,I've only seen the Bount arc, which actually wasn't too bad (aside from some of the earlier episodes using a plot line similar to Yu Yu Hakusho, which was done much better there),but it was pretty long, and one of the better revelations in the series happened just after the end of Soul Society arc in the manga....Granted,I know filler's a necessary evil since the anime catches up to the manga really quickly...

Trying to make it seem like Ichigo and Rukia are a potential couple in some of the openings/endings....This one just bugs me....I've never once seen them as having romantic interest in one another in the manga,to me it's pretty clear they're just frienRAB (and to top it off,Kubo's even SAID that they don't have romantic interest in each other in one of his interviews)....It makes me wonder if Yu Yu Hakusho were being made today,if Pierrot would automatically decide Yusuke and Botan are a couple,(even though they're clearly not,and Yusuke already had a love interest in Keiko)...

watch the zanpaktou tales arc
up till the last 2 eps it was probably the best filler in an anime I have ever seen...very good filler
but above that I agree with everything you said

I guess I'm the only one that don't mind this since I can't stand them 3 anyway (along with Rukia). Leave it to me they'd be killed off. It's a good thing I'm no writer right?

Thanks for the reminder. While the implications in OPs never bothered me, it's always those fans that just run off at the mouth tossing out pairings left and right that get on my nerves. At times it gets to a point to where I get tempted to drop the series (Naruto as well, but that one is easily remedied) and anything affiliated with it. Seriously, people don't know how tiring it is to keep on seeing nothing but pairings here and pairings there.
