Bleach Ends Watchmen's 11-Month Run as #1 Graphic Novel

Quite possibly, but One Piece has managed to survive without a deal much longer than Naruto. Even so, the Viz Naruto machine still continues to beat powerfully. With so many volumes coming out at once sales of them will be a slow progression.

Sales are probably spread out among several volumes, as opposed to Bleach where one volume takes in all the sales.

Still, it's more proof effective online distribution, Xbox Live, youtube, etc, is absolutely critical.

As for the topic at hand...Rorschach does not approve.

Look at that face. That's the face Shiginami have nightmares about.

Seriously though, 11 months. Everyone who wants a copy likely has one.

I had a copy of Watchmen before 300 was even announced, so I was not part of the movie buzz. Still, I would like to think sales will pick up again after people start renting the movie.

Too bad Alan Moore can't enjoy the fun.

I would've liked a different title to knock Watchmen off, but Bleach is decent I guess. Is the manga better than the anime?

And I'm pretty sure Fruits Basket 23 will knock Bleach off of 1st, being the last volume of a very popular series.

agreed. I for one find orihime my least favriote bleach gal. In the end if it weren't for her weird power, all she would be is eye candy for the fans.

But I love the rest of the female cast in bleach! (even though rangiku is annoying at times)

Still glad to see Bleach trump the watchman! YAY BLEACH!!!

Did you read Watchmen? Rorschach would hate a person like Orihime.

BURNED!!!!!! I mean it, I'm not that found of Bleach ever since Kubo decided to repeat Soul Society arc over and over again. I may not like Kishimoto myself, but he tries to be original with his plot.

Seconded.

And I mean, seriously, Hueco Mundo really was just Soul Society all over again, as far as I'm concerned. Damsel in distress. Check. A rescue team consisting of Ichigo and his frienRAB with powerful spirit abilities. Check. Ridiculous and out-of-nowhere plot twists. Check.

Sure, in this arc there was actually a main villain and some talk about a war coming up, but honestly it had the same exact essential concept and plot as the SS arc did.

And, yes, Orihime is indeed nothing but annoying eye-candy (but for me she's too irritating to even be that ).

While I agree with the sentiment of Watchmen being the superior comic, I don't really mind see Bleach beat it out in sales, in fact i welcome it as a sign of manga's popularity in the US.

Naruto--Viz's big gun--has sold all of 4.4 million copies in 45 volumes. If Bleach was making those nurabers it'd be mentioned on the back it's volumes. It's likely Bleach sold maybe 75,000 and Watchmen 50,000 because everyone else in the nation owns it already (well, accept me).

But thats Naruto's overall sales since its been published, Watchmen Has sold millions over the years as well, & i'd say bleach would be well into the 100'000s in the US by now.

For God's sake people how many Bleach volumes released in the past year beat Watchmen, a single novel that isn't being released 4 times a year and doesn't have new content 4 times a year.

This is not something that even deserves it's own report.
