Bleach - Anime TV Series - Part 3 (Spoilers)

"I thought I was elite..."

This ep FTW. Premiere of the VaizarRAB and the return of the Grande Fisher ...sweeeet. I do gotta say that ending theme is so spoilerific its not even funny

Well not everyone in the internet can catch spoilers. I read a post in another forum's thread about the ending asking about
the guy who looks like Ichigo's dad.
If you ask me Rinrin was worse in the episode preview.

I recall thatRyuuken's hair color was a mistake in the flasrabroadack. I was really expecting silver hair but white is all right.

You know, they could have just waited until next week for that ending and it would have been fine. Or updated the animation next week. Whatever.

Yeah, they went through a whole 3 chapters in this episode, which seems weird for a show that just finished doing 40 episodes of filler. Oh well, it makes for entertainment in the mean time.

I guess it could be some weird way of saying "Look everybody, no more filler! See, we're even going to throw you into the next plot right from the start" and then stretch out the fights somewhat. Looking on it now though, they seem to be having trouble stretching the manga material with just this one episode, since most of it was everyone killing time at school and flasrabroadacks on the filler.

But if they're thinking of sticking in small filler arcs and one big filler arc every other season, then forget it. The stuff that happens in this series is awesome, but not awesome enough to pick up that kind of slack.

So they rush through manga material and then put in 7 minutes of filler? I'd have rathered an extended Ichigo/Hirako fight, or more hollows showing up to get pwnt by Ryuuken.

Isshini's big reveal lacks the oomph with it not being the end of the episode, or even the fade to commercials, also.

Still, another solid episode, as we see the Grand Fisher, about 100 episodes after his last appearance, get killed off. And we see what Isshin has been hiding all this time.

Looking forward to next week, where we'll hear what
Hiyori
sounRAB like.

The animation wasn't that great though. Unfortunately, Isshin's face looked off model just about every other image or so. That, and the lack of the cool effect whenever characters sense reiatsu disappointed me. However, they did just spend a ton of money on a movie and the last few episodes of the filler were done well. So I guess I'm not too surprised.

And I recall Isshin's attack being a little more dramatic than two blue slashes drawn over a black backdrop.

I don't know...I think I'm going to stop watching for a few weeks and see a chunk of this season to get a better idea if the series is going to work out or not.

Instead of the blue, it showed the moon appear through the two sliced halves of the Grand Fisher. Also, I can't confirm this for sure, but wasn't the Grand Fisher supposed to have four legs in his fully released state?

I'm a little disappointed, but let's see how things play out in the next battle.

Highly disappointed with the first few 'canon' episodes.

Bad animation, rushing through canon material, and focus on filler characters that should have stayed filler and (thus) ruining the pacing/feel of canon material?

I'll give the series a few more episodes to shape itself back into the awesomeness it was pre-filler or I'm just going to stick with the manga.

Honestly I was just totally fascinated by the introduction of Uryuu and Ichigo's father's and the tenuous ties that they might have some history.

Mind you I've only been watching the anime and not reading the manga but I am starting to wonder if there was some tragic past with Uryuu's father related to Isshin that made him decide to forsake his Quincy Heritage.

As far as the Grand Fisher incident goes: I am really surprised there was no passage with Isshin announcing victory over his fallen wife. Although it was already a drastic change to see him all serious, it would have made the moment all that much better to see him explode in a fit of vengeance al la Ichigo's potential.

BTW --- whats this about "Ichigo's a pure Shinigami" that the grand fisher announced? I mean if we do the math here, technically a dead guy with captain level shinigami powers married a living chick. Although thats not exactly 'pure' it does draw a picture of something weird happening.

Oh, doesn't Shinji remind anyone else of Ichimaru ?

Hiyori's voice is pretty good. I loved the whole scene with her and Hirako. The class all getting on Hirako's case was great, too.

Next week....they are coming.

I really like the comedy flowing with the plot like it did so often in the Soul Society Arc. Nice to see Bleach is really back...now I just have to wait for Ichigo to find out about his dad.
