Blazer Tips and Tricks

my Blazer default setting is 'fast mode' with disable CSS checkmarked, but don't display images *not* checkmarked; I just cleared my cookies and tried to log in to BH -- the page never finished loading, so I couldn't login. Finally, I tried switching to 'normal mode' -- success! I have no idea how many other websites also insist on having CSS enabled for login, but its something to remember (fwiw? gMail doesn't care ;) )

EDIT: been meaning to mention this?

sometimes, you'll try to post, and get the message 'please wait for Javascript to finish' (or something to that effect) -- usually this occurs after the 'page is too large to load' message. a work-around is to copy what you've just typed in, then tap 'reply with quote' (if in normal mode, the Quote button). its then your choice to include the quoted text or overwrite it with your copied text. last step, Post Reply :)

Great Tip, thanks Rick :)
I didn't realise it made such a big difference.
I don't look at comics etc much and on the odd occassion I have wanted to read them I have resorted to downloading (when allowed) and viewing with a photo viewer to zoom in but your Tip works well for me and my old eyes :)

I have added your Tip to the 1st Post in it's own section called
 Image too small:

I also updated the 1st Post yesterday with the following:

This page is too large to be displayed:
Added info on 'Disable Javascript'
I have been Blazing the web with Javascript disabled for a while and it suits me.
I was just cautious about mentioning it here as it does stop me from viewing some websites and reduces the 'functions' on the ones I can view.
I have now decided that it should be shared as long as folks remember that Javascript is disabled and don't go looking for 'problems' or immediately blaming Blazer ;)

I had an extra incentive as recently I have been finding it harder to download ZIP files from FreewarePalm and disabling Javascript gets around this problem.
This is why I also added info to:

Blazer to download:
Added Can't download from website ? info for hopefully overcoming problems when trying to download a ZIP file etc from a website.

Blazer TextBox Limit:
A new section for those who prefer to write their emails, BH Posts etc in Memos and then Copy/Paste to the Blazer textbox later :)
This is my usual way unless it is is a short note but then, when have I ever been known to write a short note :D

I also added Updates to this Post at the bottom so it will hopefully be easier to find new info.
Post# 1 is getting Huge, I hope it is not going to exceed a BH limit

All the best, woz of oz

Yup. The Easter Egg, and therefore new save feature, work great on the 755p. Thanks wozzy! :D

Edit: For best results, draw the counter-clockwise circle over the 's' in 'Tips.'

I've added 'Save Source to Memo' to the first Post but since there is no Grafitti area on a Treo/Cento I don't know how to enable the EasterEgg or even if it is possible.
Maybe Treo/Centro already have the 'Save Source to Memo' feature ?
If someone can tell me what is happening with Treo/Centro I will update the first Post again. Thanks :)

EDIT: It's ok, I found it (Google is my friend :) )
Launch the Prefs app and select 'Power'.
Draw a small counter clockwise circle on the screen in the bottom right corner just above the 'Tips' button.
An 'EasterEgg' should appear.

Also there are a few other tweeks to the first Post including
mlvb.net (Updated to v2.11u on 16th July 08 and faster)
The BAB2000 quote in 'rabroad- Modes:'

I've been meaning to point this out for ages now, so sorry if this is a little late.

As you mention, Blazer seems to have a text size limit when pasting into a form. Although there seems to me there is no way to directly solve this problem, NetFront doesn't seem to have this affliction. I've pasted very large things into NetFront's fields, and all has worked great.
